Is
Boy Scouting for me?
Boy
Scouting is for boys who want to have fun in the
great outdoors and are open to try new experiences
like camping, canoeing, rock climbing, and other
fun activities! It's especially great if you want
to help other Scouts in the Troop decide what you
want to do and when (plan activities). Being willing
to learn some new skills is a big plus. You must
either be 11 years old or have completed the 5th
Grade or earned Cub Scout Arrow of Light award.
If you'd like to know more about what we do, look
through the rest of this website, or contact
us and arrange for a visit to a Troop meeting.

Membership in Troop 69 is open to all youth and
adults who meet BSA membership criteria, subject
to the approval of the Scoutmaster (for youth) or
the Troop Committee and our Troop Sponsor, St. Helena's
Episcopal Church of Burr Ridge (for adults). Troop
69 does not discriminate on the basis of religion,
race, disability, or national origin. Parents or
guardians of youth members of Troop 69 are expected
to also participate and help in the Troop's program.
Examples of participation would be driving Scouts
and Scouters to and from campouts or summer camp,
assisting with Troop fundraisers, becoming a member
of the Troop committee (e.g., Treasurer or Publicity
Chair), becoming a leader (e.g., Assistant Scoutmaster),
counseling Merit Badges, assisting at service projects,
or making phone calls to arrange camping sites and
permits.
